Jensen, on advice from Butte, Mont., was placed on the same train last night and' sent on his way to Boise, his original destination. Young Sullivan, a bright, intelligent, well-dressed and properly trained boy, was arrested at the instance of Police Chief Murphy of Butte, who stated that ho was a runaway and his father was searching for him The boy admitted ad-mitted he was running away but ex plained that he was enroute to his mother's home in Boise. He stated that his mother and father had separated, sep-arated, that he had been to Butte on a visit and that, when he sought to return to Boise, his father refused to let him go. Ho communicated with his mother and she sent money4 to purchase pur-chase a ticket and gave him instructions instruc-tions how to leave. He waited until his father went to sleep Tuesday, then he disappeared. Because of the youth's evident sincerity sin-cerity and his statement that his mother mo-ther was alone and needed him, the local police department became his champion and lawyers volunteered to help him resist extradition. These facts were communicated to the Butto police and a telegram from tnero last night advised the local officers to let him continue to Boise the father having hav-ing given up his effort to return his son to Montana. -nn |
