Show HIGH SCHOOL OPEII' POSTPONED OiE . MORE WEEK ; i The opening of the Ogden high school for the term of 1918-19 will be delayed another week as a result of . action taken last night at the meeting meet-ing of the board of education when local canners called to ask for an extension. ex-tension. The opening has already been delayed two weeks that the students stu-dents might work in the factories. It is understood that the board objected ob-jected to a further continuance of the vacation nt the meeting but, upon especially es-pecially urgent representation of the canners, it was decided to grant the extra week Supt. Johnson protested the action on the ground that serious results might occur if the school work was disrupted by further suspension, but after somo argument the board took favorable action on the plea of the canners. Today a careful survey of all can;-' nlng plants 'is being made by a mem-J ber of the Ogden high school faculty ,-as ,-as the basis of a report to the school 1 superintendent to show how faithfully faith-fully the students are supporting the movement by working and how the canneries aro using them. no |
