Show GENEROUS' DONATIONS BEING IDE TD RED CROSS- The Red Cross shop, which is to open Saturday noon in the building on Washington avenue, formerly occupied by the Kennedy cafe, is meeting with a generous response on the part of tho merchants of the city who are giving goods -which will be sold in the shop. The entire receipts of the shop are to go toward the general fund of the great mercy work. Among the donors today are Last & Thomas, who gave a fine collection of children's coats, and S. J. Burt & Bros., who gave capes, coats and shirtwaists. shirt-waists. Other articles are coming in daily from the people of tho city. The committee is desirous of securing se-curing a few volunteer dressmakers for the ready-to-wear department. Any late fruits, tomatoes and peppers pep-pers which are received will be delivered deliv-ered to the high school domestic science sci-ence department which will can the products, to be offered for sale at the shop. The Red Cross committee received from some good woman of Ogden who offered to donate a roller top desk, cash register and an elk head for the shop, during the Belgian relief drive. Her name and address was taken down but has been lost and now the committee members ask the lady to telephone her address to the Red Cross, No. 316, or notify the shop or Mrs. Ralph E. Bristol, captain of tho motor corps and the three much-nced-led gifts will be called for. Owing to the failure of many of the various committees to respond at the shop, the preparations for the opening are not progressing as rapidly as is desired. Those women who are on ihe various committees are urged to call at the shop as soon as convenient and receive instructions for the opening. |
