Show HOOVER MAKES SnUWGJENUL; WASHINGON. Feb. 27. Charges made in the federal trade commission's commis-sion's meat packing investigation, that men still in the pay of the big packing pack-ing interests are holding important positions in the food administration, drew a oatagorical denial last night "On behalf of, and out of consideration consid-eration for, the men referred to in the packers' investigation at Chicago yesterday, who are, or have beenem-J ployed in the food administration,' Mr. Hoover said, "I wish to say th-t 11 none of the men referred to has had anything whatever to do with the reg- ppj ulation or control of the packing trade. j ipj They are employed in other directions ; niH and arc now paid by the packers. t '; "From time to timo, as in thPo ' cases, many men aro tried out tern- iiH porarily in the food administration, ipB and if they arc able to glvo the time, iH and prove to have tho devotion, ex- j piH pcrience and skill necessary for this fH work, they aro required to resign from j any connection that would Involve rfny conflict of interest before they iB become permanent employes of the administration.
