Show FOREST Rlffl W MUCH ALIVE A half column story appeared in the Boise Capital-News, last Friday, to the effect that A- G. Nord, forest ranger on the Targhee national forest, with headquarters at St. Anthony, had been found dead, shot through the back, and the body had been found at the side of a dead moose. The story went on to state that he had undoubtedly been killed by a poacher, whom he had caught with the moose. It is closed season for moose in that region, which is near Tetonia, Ida., and the theory was that he had caught tho poacher who had shot Nord, to cover up his crime. 1 The local office immediately got busy. Telegrams were sent to St. Anthony and a reply came that Nord was very much alive and at a loss to know where the story originated as as he was not even in the region at the time. He had been drafted and was on leave of absence to visit his family before reporting for duty at American Lake. rr |
