The retail merchants of the city, in their Weekly moeting, which was held last night, decided to decorate their stores and windows with Utah products prod-ucts In such manner that their customers cus-tomers may realize the importance of home Industries. The idea that to boost tho manufacturers is to boost tho state was general with the merchants, mer-chants, and accordingly they are giving giv-ing the movement strong support. A meeting was held today at tho Weber club of the committees In charge of Utah Products week in Ogr den and a general check was made on the work thus far accomplished. Final details of the banquet tomorrow evening eve-ning in the club were also discussed. Hon. Milton H. Welling, congressman, and George McAllister, president of the Utah Manufacturers' association, will be the principal speakers at this banquet, but speeches will also be made by other prominent men of the city and state, among them Mavor Hey wood of Ogden. H. L. Herrington will act as toastmaster. There will be manufacturers and prominent merchants mer-chants from difforent parts of the state and tho discussion of timely topics top-ics to the manufacturing industry in Utah is expected to be a considerable part of the evenL Secretary A. C. Rees, of the Utah Manufacturers' association, and Earl J. Glade, of the, school of commerce of the State university, will attend the banquet and also speak. These two men will come to Ogden tomorrow in time to hold meetings In several of the schools and deliver addresses to tho students on topics of interest to Utah Products week. Horace Ensign, secretary of the Utah State Fair association, will render ren-der several vocal selections at the banquet In addition to Mayor Heywood, of Ogden, President Wattis, of the Weber We-ber club, will deliver an address and a representative of the Retail Mer chants' association of Ogden. will speak. All prominent manufacturers of Utah, bankors, retail merchants and newspapermen of Ogden will attend at-tend the banquet |
