Show tKSoed v Local Officials to Be Given More Aid for Registration on Thursday. WASHINGTON, Sept. 6. Provost Marshal Genernl Crowder is planning the enlargement of local draft boards wherever necessary in order that some of the men. who register next Thursday, Thurs-day, may be inducted into military service in October. General Crowder has telegraphed drAft executives in every state asking if any increase in the personnel would expedite work. Additional registrars have already been authorized for September Sep-tember 12. Employers or dependents of regis tered men who, for patriotic reasons, who may object to entering a claim for deferred classification on the grounds of dependency or the nature of their occupation, .will 'expedite proceedings and prevent injustice by making the exemption claims for tho men it was said today at Provost Marshal General Gen-eral Crowder's ofilce. Thero is a form for such claims in the questionnaire it was pointed out, and local boards will find their duties more complicated if registrants entitled to exemption do not claim it, or some interested person per-son does not make the claim in their behalf. Details in the appointment of advisory advi-sory committees to each of the district dis-trict draft boards to assist the boards in passing upon exemptions claimed on occupational grounds, were discussed dis-cussed today at a conference between representatives of the provost marshal mar-shal general's office, tho war labor policies board and the department of labor.
