BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF UTAH. A PROCLAMATION. The congress of the United States has enacted a law directing that all male persdns between the ages of 21 and 30, both inclusive, shall be registered regis-tered for military service. Complying with this law, the president presi-dent of the United States has, by proclamation, called upon all male persons per-sons of the designated a&es to register regis-ter in their domiciliary voting districts on Juno 5, 1917. Throughout the United Statos young men of military ago will present themselves them-selves for enrollment in preparation for the selective service in their country coun-try during the present war. It is the purpose of the government of the United States and of this state to emphasize the far-reaching significance signifi-cance of this occasion. In order that this day bo observed throughout the slate in a manner comporting com-porting with its national importance, I, Simon Bamberger, governor of tho state of Utah, by virtue of the power conferred on me by the constitution and laws of the state, do hereby proclaim pro-claim and set apart THURSDAY, JUNE 6. 1917, as a public holiday. This day should be kept as registration registra-tion day, and all programs should be in keeping with the spirit of willing service shown by the young men of the slate who enroll their names on the country's honor list No other objects ob-jects should be permitted to intrude; flags should float from all buildings and residences, and registration places should bo appropriately decorated, although al-though costly decorations should be discouraged; good citizens should volunteer vol-unteer their services in assisting registration reg-istration officers and in encouraging the young men of military age to register. reg-ister. Those registering should be given distinctive badges or buttons indicating in-dicating that they have been enrolled.
