Show SING SO BAD TRAT 10 MEN CAME TO BLOWS Two men, Barlow Bray and Leo Smith, were found guilty in police court this morning of disturbing the peace by fighting and woro each fined ?10. They entered a plea of not guilty, guil-ty, but when tried, thoy seemed to be so vague in their testimony and lacking lack-ing in frankness, that Judge Barker was loath to let them off unless they could tell the court just what the trouble was. They were arrested on Loncoln avenue, betwen Twenty-fifth and Twenty-sixth streets, last night by Officers Johns and Bond. When the officers appeared on tho scene, thoy were hard at it. One of the men was bleeding freely from a cut under tho left eye. They said thoy were at a party last night and that, while a friend of Bray's was singing, some one made a remark that Bray resented. Tho argument started and Bray and his friend left tho house. Thoy met Smith outside, and, according to Bray, Smith seemed to take up the fight for the other fellow. Smith said Bray hit another an-other man and ho hit back and so the story went. It was evident that there was a general misunderstanding all around and some one had a chip on his shoulder. D. P. Lewis, arrested Sunday night for speeding on Twenty-fifth street, was given a five days' suspended sent-ftnee, sent-ftnee, after tho case has been under advisement for the past two days. |
