Show Brigham City Society (Special to The Standard.) BRIGHAM CITY, May 5. Miss Leo-na Leo-na Stokes of this city and Paul W. Pruitt of Ogden were married in this city "Wednesday evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Stokes. Bishop Thomas H. Blackburn performed the ceremony. Mrs. R. L. Fishburn, Jr., returned Thursday from an extended visit with her mother, Mrs. James Mack, of Ogden. Og-den. Mrs. H. D. Bage of Boise, Idaho, who has been spending a few days visiting relatives and friends in this city, went to Salt Lake to visit friendB there before be-fore returning to her homo in the Gem state. Mrs. Elmer Speares has returned to her home in Rock Springs, after visiting vis-iting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cheal, for a few weeks. The Ladles' Aid society of the Presbyterian Pres-byterian church met in their regular meeting at tho manse Friday afternoon, after-noon, with Mrs. A. G. Frank as hostess. hos-tess. Among those pi esent were: Mrs. C. R. Mabee, Mrs. H. J. Heaton, Mrs. Caroline Mabee, Mrs. A. G. Frank, Mrs. Fred C. Hultquist, Mrs. O. C. Stockcr, Mrs. Nicolai Nelson, Mrs. J. E. Ryan, Mrs, Claude Baker, Mrs. Ida C. James and Mrs. W. I. Hargis. Mrs. J. A. Lee and children have gone to Salt Lake to join Mr. Lee and will make their home there in the future. fu-ture. Members of the Daughters of the Pioneers in the third ward gave a dinner at the home of Mrs. Rose H. Neeley in honor of Mrs. Zilla Reese. Misses Alda and Helen Neoloy entertained enter-tained with musical numbers and a reading was given by Phyllis Madsen. Miss Hope Fishburn entertained last evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Stew-art Horsley, who will leave soon for the Hawaiian mission in behalf of the Mormon church. Jenson of Los Angeles came to Brigham during the week on t an important business trip and left later for the coast, accompanied bv two grandchildren, Master Jesse S. Jenson and Miss Norma Jenson. Mrs. Emma Crawford was tho recipient re-cipient of a delightful surprise Tuesday Tues-day afternoon given by the Deseret camp of the Daughters of the Pioneers. Pio-neers. Refreshments were served and those present were Mrs. Emma Crawford, Craw-ford, Mrs. Chas. Brown, Mrs. C. W. Merrell. Mrs. Julius Wright, Mrs. H. S. Jensen, Mrs. Ray Pett, Mrs. C. Ellas Ell-as Jensen, Mrs. Marie Guyinon, Mrs. Brigham Wright, Mrs. R. A. Madsen, Mrs Isaac H. Jensen, Miss Malinda Wright, Miss Annie Crawford, Miss Lenora Jensen, and Miss Freda Hansen. Han-sen. The Misses Laura and Sarah Mathi-as Mathi-as entertained the members of their kensington club Thursday evening and a most pleasant evening was spent in sewing, chatting, etc. Present were Mrs. A. J. Lee, Mrs. Henry Seeger, Mrs. W. R. Dredge, Mrs. Delilah Roberts, Rob-erts, Mrs. W. C. Richardson, Miss Mabel Ma-bel Harris, Miss Eliza Hanson, Miss Mary Hoist, Miss Nellie Jensen and Miss Trieste Box. Mrs. H. S. Jensen entertained a few friends Tuesday afternoon at tea. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Olson entertained Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Cleave at dinner Monday evening. Mrs. Anton Thompson of Salt Lake was the guest of Mrs. Frank Billings a few days during the week. oo |
