Show ui's mm SEESJfiESIDEBT WASHINGTON, D. C, July 2. Governor Gov-ernor Simon Bamberger, with his wife and daughter, Elsa, arrived hero this morning from Northampton, N. H., where Miss Elsa recently graduated from Smith college. From Now York to Washington they traveled in tho private car of Luman Erb, owner of the Moffatt road, who desires the aid of Governor Bamberger and Utah interests in-terests to extend the road from Its present terminal at Steamboat Springs, Colo., Into Utah to form a connection with tho Denver and Rio Grande, ' With Senator King of Utah and Governor Gov-ernor Alexander of Idaho, Governor Bamberger called this afternoon upon President Wilson and told him that Utah should take tho lead In percentage percent-age of enlistments, subscriptions to uhe Liberty loan and in raising Red Cross funds. The president expressed gratitude at tho patriotism of Utah, but said that it was not more than ho expected. Governor Bamberger also had a conference con-ference this afternoon with Herbert C. Hoover and his 'assistant, Charles D. Walcott, secretary of the Smlth-B Smlth-B iu instltuUn. The- governor urged that tho government utillzo tho Fort Duchesne reservation for food crop cultivation, calling attention to the good land and ample water facill-ties facill-ties at the disposal of the government.
