Show ... ' THE BINGHAM PRESS BUI LETIN ' PAGE FIVE SMPLICITY IN SPRING STYLES; MATCHED SETS IN LINGERIE IF SOME thoughtful brother or doting father or devoted husband has the good Judgment to seud a pret-ty check. Instead of a valentine, to the Idol of his heart, let him recommend that she run right along and change It Into a new frock. Just about now the feminine world Is tired of lta winter outfit and the shops are bringing In de-lightful things for early spring. The new frocks hsve the lure of cleverness and beauty and the promise of spring In them they are calculated to capti-vate, and they do captivate and In-spire their wearers. Thanks to the powers that be In the realm of fsshlon, stylists have clung to gerle, enticing many an Easter bride to make extravagant additions to her well-fille- d hope chest Although the bulk of all lingerie Is shown in whits or pink, the elaborate typea appear In other colors and light green appears to have won many admirers. Th Inquiring fashion reporter Is authorised to proclaim the return to great favor of mHtched sets, Including two or three pieces, as drawers, chemise and nightdress. This la in keeping with the trend of the styles In outside garments, which Is distinctly toward the ensemble costumes. lists, coats and frocks are no longer Inde-pendent of each other, they travel In '' ' wmw straight and simple lines as the foun-dation f " 1 V s of the mode In day frocks, but, V y oh, bow much Ingenuity they have yC-- V A shown In working out chic details of t J T construction end finish I They are cj dr ai in I lided by Joyous and subtle colors and crtr Am Q by little whims In ek lines mnd fin-ishing -- of thi f touches. Tbe neck line was . never more varied and thereby hangs a tale of unparalleled becomlngness and dainty neckwear. The frock pictured here Is an exam-ple of the day frock with everything to recommend It. It Is mode of e In the color called rosewood and has a collar and Jabot of crepe de chine which might be In any becoming color that contrasts well with the frock. The skirt portion is a wrap-around model, fastening with a button, and buttons adorn the pocket flap and fasten tbe bodice. The belts made to wear with frocks of this kind are a family group and reveal a strong re-semblance to one another. Tills Is also the case in lingerie, and drawers, chemise and gowns are made to match, Tbe chemise and drawers shown here are made of pale green crepe de chine and trimmed with ecru lace and net frills. Satin ribbon. In tbe same color, provides the shoulder straps and little bows that' finish off the garments. There is a net frill at the bottom of the chemise and along the edges of the split seam at the aide of the drawers and finally sprays of fine flowers are dune In silk embroidery at one aide of Elaborate Matched Set sometimes of leather and sometimes of self material. Leather Is preferred when a sports flavor Is to be accented In the styling. The model is suited to twills, kasha, Jersey and other suitings. For early spring, soft red, henna, rus-set and pheasant colors are most pop-ular, but warm tans, beige, bine and green are to be reckoned with, and there ts a prediction that navy is in the front rank of wanted colors along with the brown shades. Lingerie runs . through the whole scale In styles, from the severely plain type, without lace, embroidery or frills to the very elaborate bridal sets bedecked with laces, net, embroidery and ribbons. All during January these were featured in the display! of Ila- - the chemise snd Just above the knees of the drawers, Even sheerer fabrics than crepe de chine are sometimes chosen for these lacy undergarments, which the shops display In georgette crepe or One voile. But crepe de chine has every reason to be the favorite material in silk and linen lawn or fine batiste preset t them-selves as worthy of equal elaboration. Considering that they look so fragile, all these sheer fabrics are amazingly durable, when good qualities In them are chosen. Crepe de chine and fine voile wear for years, and batiste or linen are also sturdy, but they all re-quire careful laundering. JULIA B0TT0MLET. 0 , Western Newapapei Vaiea.)
