Moran, the contractor, contract-or, Is expected to be concluded early this evening. Judge A.' E. Pratt is tlrtm expected to take tho case under I advisement before giving his decision as to whether tho city gained jurisdiction juris-diction in the paving district and was acting within Its rights in going ahead with tho paving work, This morning and this afternoon the time was taken up with an examination examina-tion of tho records and deeds of property prop-erty abutting on the streets designated for paving improvements. Judge J. A. Howell, who is assisting Captain E. T. Hulaniskl In handling tho city's interests, in-terests, and Attorney E. B. Crltchlow of the firm of Crltchlow & Barrett of Salt Lake, who Is counsel for P. J. Moran, devoted their time to showing by the recorder's books and deeds who owned the property abutting on the stroets In the district. Attorney H. H. Henderson, who is tho representative of the Twenty-eighth Twenty-eighth street property owners in the action, expressed himself .xb pleasod with the way things have been going In the caso, and said ho hoped to show that tho city did not legally have tho right to go ahead with the paving work as it has done. Attorney Henderson is believed to have several surprises "up his sleeve" which may bo sprung In tho case and which may do much to win the property prop-erty owners' caso for them. |
