Show oo PROVO ELKS' CLUB DAMAGED BY FIRE PROVO, Aug. 23. About 2 o'clock this morning, Police Officer E. U. Scho-fleld Scho-fleld discovered a fire in the Elks' lodgeroom, 32 West Center st'roet, upstairs up-stairs in the Bailey & Vincent block. Ho ran across the street to the Tellu-ride Tellu-ride garage and turned In the alarm to tho fire department and, in company with Joseph Loveridge and Roy Jacques, who were working in the garage, gar-age, returned to the fire and found tho poolroom in a blaze. When the fire department arrived the flro had made considerable headway, but as it was confined to the furniture, fixtures and woodwork it was soon out. It is supposed sup-posed to have started in the paraphernalia parapher-nalia room, which was separated, from the poolroom by a lumber partition. A lot of regalia and other equipment was destroyed and two pool tables badly damaged. Other parts- of the lodge-rooms lodge-rooms wore damaged by smoke. |
