Show PROYO YOUNGSTERS MAKE GOOD MARKS Provo, May 7. Todav was Athletic day in the public schools of Provo and the meet on the Y field which pommenced at an earlv hour this afternoon, aft-ernoon, drew one of the largest crowds 1 hat ever met to witness a contest in this city. From the star interest was ken and the enthusiasm ran high. The four schools werr all well represented and for a time no school r-nuld claim much advantage However, How-ever, when it came to the field events tin- Maescr forged rapidly to the front and soon ran away from its nearest lompetitor. -the Parker, winning by a score of 65 points, against 4-1 l2 fOT the Parker, 40 1-2 for the Franklin and 22 for the Timpanogos. Th' showing made in some of the events clearly demonstrated that Provo Pro-vo will have some athletes of which 3lie way well be proud within the rxt few years. In the high jump 5 feet 2 inches was r sa hed by Norman Nor-man Crawley of the Franklin school, in 1 1).' br d jump Jack Mayberry won i ir.-:t place by jumping 16 feet 4 inches, inch-es, and the quarter relay was run In 56 seconds. |
