Show LATIN CLUB FORMED AT OGBEI HIGH SCROOL Under the able direction of E. G. Johnston, instructor in Latin at the Ogden high school, a Latin club has been organized and the following officers offi-cers elected: Praeses Fred Herrington. Legatus Praesidis Dick Graves. Secretaria Grace Jennings. Praefecta Aorarii Alice Mitchell. Apparitor Ed Wood. The name Aeneadae, meaning the followers of Aeneas or the Classics, was chosen, and purple and gold selected se-lected as club colors. Latin programs and plays will bo given throughout the year, from which it is expected much profit and pleasure will be derived. A public debate is to be staged with tho German department upon the subject: sub-ject: "Resolved, That Latin is a more practical subject in the high school curriculum than German." Undoubtedly this Innovation will prove .to be one of the most worthwhile worth-while organizations at the high school. oo Walsenburg, Colo., Nov. 17. Gaining Gain-ing entrance through an abandoned chimney hole in the ceiling, covered over with lath and plaster for somo time, robbers early today broke Into the First National Bank here, dynamited dyna-mited the safe and got away with $6700, mostly in silver. The robbery was discovered when clerks opened the bank for business today. The sole clue was tho leather handle of a suitcase, suit-case, apparently wrenched off by the weight of the looted coin. |
