Show CHOIR BENEFIT GIVEN IN FOURTH WRRD The Fourth ward choir, assisted by a number of the city's well-known singers musicians and entertainers, presented a pleasing program last night in the ward meeting house for , ihe benefit of the Ogden tabernacle 'hoir A fair sized crowd was in attendance at-tendance and enjoyed each number uiven The choir, under the direction of Orson Griffin, was heard In three numbers "The Palms." "Come Unto Me" and "Mighty Jehovah." Miss Lila lost and Miss Louise Pierce of the Ogden conservatory con-itnbuted con-itnbuted several fine numbers A unique feature of the program was the rendition of a half dozen popular ! numbers bv Joseph Williams and Miss Pearl Wayment on an instrument made bv Mr Williams by suspending flasks partly filled with water trom a long bar The Instrument Is called a "Sunshine piano ' by the maker, but was dubbed a -Flask-O-Phone last night. Four of the numbers were en- Matt Gait contributed two of his character comedv readings and I M. Hilton showed himself to be a reader of no mean ability In telling "The Settlers Set-tlers Storv. Sterling Price, sang "The Choir Invisible" and "I've Something Some-thing Sweet to Tell You." A duet. Love's Dream Is O'er." was sunc b Eva Prows and Orson Griffin and the latter also sang the solo, "A T1" Two numbers were sung by the Fourth ward male chorus and Henry Frogley sang "A Perfect Day " cw |
