Show FOi A. C. MEN RECEIVE LETTERS' 1 All Other Members of Aggie! Football Squad Broke Training Rules. Logan, Dec. 15. Because all but four of the members of the Utah Aggie Ag-gie football squad broke training rules during the past season, Coach Jack Watson will recommend to the j executive council at their meeting next week that letters be awarded to j only those four who strictly regarded the training regulations. It is not known what tho attitude of the executive exec-utive committee will be in the matter, but many of the students are inclined inclin-ed to think that the recommendation will be voted upon, to the chagrin of the majority of the grid squad. In relating to his policy, Coach Watson stated that the results of the games played his season had nothing to do with the prompting of his proposed action. When the news first got out that some of the men had broken training just before the Idaho game, Watson advised the boys that the Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing game would have to be cancelled. Upon consulting with the squad, however, how-ever, it was decided that calling off the game would injure many besides the offending players. It was then decided, the team supporting the decision de-cision unanimously, that letters should be given only to those men who had kept strict training throughout through-out the season. This action, while rather severe, has tho support of the team and the institution. In adopting adopt-ing this policy, Coach Watson is working for a strong and permanent team. |
