Show YOUNG MAN'S DEATH CAUSED BY BURNS Brigham City, Nov. 23. -Edwin Se-crist Se-crist of this city died at an early hour this morning from injuries suffered when he was burned with hot syrup in the Brigham sugar factory Tuesday night. The accident which befell young Se- I crist is one of the most frightful that ' has ever occurred in this city. He was ' pinned fast by getting his arm caught in a lever of the heavy door, while the hot liquid poured out on him. In tearing the young man away from his position, the muscles in the arm that was caught were literally torn from the bone. The hot syrup ran in between his clothing and body and burned his body almost to a crisp. He lived 30 hours. Mr. Secrist was 24 years of age, the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Secrist, and leaves a wife and two little children. Funeral services will be held in the First ward chapel Sunday at 2:30 p. m. oo |
