Show UU " SHORT LINE DECIDES ON SAFETY DEVICES The committoo on safety comprised of employes of the Oregon Short Line, which has been in session for the past two days, concluded its deliberations yesterday with the submission of suggestions sug-gestions for the safety of lifo and limb. The construction of a subway for shop workers at Pocatello, that they may not be forced to cross the tracks going to and from tljeir work was decided upon, as well as tho placing plac-ing of blue flags at the end of derail tracks to prevent switch engines from colliding with cars placed thereon, goggles for shop employes to protect their oyes from fire glare and flying particles gnd electric lights for all engine en-gine cabs. It was announced at the offices of the Oregon Short Line yesterday that 2000 safety suggestions have been received re-ceived from Idaho division employes and 1500 from the Utah-Montana division. |
