Show JORDAN SCHOOL TEACHERS MEET One hundred and seventy five teachers of Jordan school district dis-trict and many visitors from the Granite and Murray districts, met in the Jordan high school auditorium last Saturday morn-ing morn-ing at y:10 for tne mid year institute. in-stitute. Superintendent D. C. Jensen presided at the meeting. Air. Jensen in his opening talk expressed ex-pressed his satisfaction with the work of the district done thus far and urged that the teachers keep up the good work throughout through-out the entire school year. A. E. Peterson, president of the Jordan District Teachers as sociation, gave a talk on "Teachers' "Teach-ers' Association Problems" and called for reports from the chair men of the several committees. All departments. of the organization organi-zation reported making definite progress in their work. , Superintendent G. N. Child ol Salt Lake City schools delivered the main address of the day, spending most of his time por-traying por-traying the causes for the varying vary-ing degrees of success among teachers. He drew many vivid pictures of war-time situations. "It was the morale of the American Amer-ican soldiers which won the war," declared Mr. Child," and it is the morale of the American Ameri-can teachers which will save our nation in peace as well as in war." |
