Superintendent D. C. Jensen presided at the meeting. Air. Jensen in his opening talk ex-pressed his satisfaction with the work of the district done thus far and urged that the teachers keep up the good work through- out the entire school year. A. E. Peterson, president of the Jordan District Teachers as sociation, gave a talk on "Teach-ers' Association Problems" and called for reports from the chair men of the several committees. All departments. of the organi-zation reported making definite progress in their work. Superintendent G. N. Child ol Salt Lake City schools delivered the main address of the day, spending most of his time por-trayin- g the causes for the vary-ing degrees of success among teachers. He drew many vivid pictures of war-tim- e situations. "It was the morale of the Amer-ican soldiers which won the war," declared Mr. Child," and it is the morale of the Ameri- can teachers which will save our nation in peace as well as in war." MURRAY RESIDENTS CELEBRATE JAN. 17 Sixteen guests gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John II. Rugg, at 6251 South State St., Murray, Utah, on Saturday ev-ening, commemorating the birth day anniversary of John Henry Rugg. Music, cards and lunch whiled away the time.
