Show uu KATHERINE C. CARNAHAN'S DEATH. When Katherine C. Carnahan died Thursday evening, one of the most self-sacrificing young women of this community Massed beyond. Her death camo as a shock to every ev-ery one who knew her. Laboring for the good of others, she never had time to think of herself. Sho was one of tho leading spirits in tho Children's Aid Boolety and hor greatest source of pleasure camo from a feeling that sho was aiding some helpless child or overburdened mother. moth-er. The Standard came to know her well through her services in this most worthy field of charity, and our respect for hor and the women associated asso-ciated with her grew to be an admiration admira-tion which found expression many times in theBo columns. We must not overlook the mother who so well directed "Kate" Carna-han's Carna-han's tiny footsteps that the child became be-came the devoted, loving companion of that mother and the two, as the j ears crept on, boemed inseparably woven into each others welfare. Our sincere sympathy is extended to MrB. Carnahan and to the other members of the lonely family. May they find comfort in the knowledge that Katherine Kath-erine Carnahan was a most beautiful character. net |
