Show C0M1TTEE IS NED TO If ESTOTE 'III" At an adjourned meeting of the city board of commissioners yesterday afternoon, af-ternoon, Mayor A. G. Fell recommended recommend-ed that J. C. Nye, former city commissioner, com-missioner, TV. J. Critcnlow, former county recorder, and William C. Howell, brother of Judge J. A. Howell, make an investigation respecting tho alleged burning of certain documents in the police department in the yoar 1911. The mayor's recommendation was unanimously adopted by the board and the appointment ot tho investigating in-vestigating committee was made. Following Is tho mayor's communication: communi-cation: "Inasmuch as it has been openly charged that a part of tho records of the polico department, for tho year 1911, aro missing, and, to tho end that exact justice may bo done, I respectfully re-spectfully recommend taht the following fol-lowing named gentlemen: Honorable J. C. Nye, Mr. W. J. Critchlow and Mr. W. C. Howell, bo appointed a committeo to investigate and report the actual facts. "It is charged that tho original entry en-try slips upon which are entered the history of each arrest made, and which are preserved at tho police department de-partment as tho exact accounting for all circumstances connected with each case, are missing for a part of the year 1911." nn |
