Professor McClellan, who is the director di-rector of the American Theatre orchestra or-chestra in Salt Lake City, and Prof. Ballantyne were Immediately Bent tor and a conference was held ac the Weber We-ber club during the noon hour. The main object of the meeting was u figure a way out of the difficulty which would not delay the opening or the theatre on the date planned and also that would not lessen the merit of the recital which was under way for the event. To attain thia object in a manner w hich it is thought will prove entirely .satisfactory to the local music lovers lov-ers and the parties directly concerned, it was decided to replace the expected organ accompaniments for the choral numbers by orchestral accompaniments, accompani-ments, and the organ numbers, by violin vio-lin and vocal solos and orchestral selections. se-lections. This will be done by the engagement of Prof. Willard Weiho, and Mr. Horace S. Ensign, Utah's most popular violinist ana baritone, and the American Theatre orchestra, augmented by 25 pieces. This augmented aug-mented orchestra, under trie direction of Prof. McClellan, has given some splendid symphonic programs in Salt Lake City and, with the Ogden Tabernacle Taber-nacle choir and the soloistB should give the local public one or the finest concerts ever staged hero. |
