Show STEAMER SUNK BY SUBMARINE London, March IS The Glasgow steamer GIenartle was torpedoed and sunk this morning in the Knglish channel chan-nel off Beachy Head. The Glenartley was carrying a cargo car-go of 8000 tons of rice from Kohai-chang Kohai-chang to London and Liverpool She was torpedoed and sunk without warning warn-ing ten miles southeast of Beachy Head The ship was struck fairly In the center, and the explosion sent (he cargo car-go hurtling skyward.
