Frank Daniels, the comedian, who has made thousands thous-ands laugh during the days when he was the acknowledged king of the comic opera stage, will return to Broadway, this time in the silent drama, dra-ma, and will makp life tniHoi hnw oo ,-w ..., ....will W ,T HO a screen artist at the Vitagraph Theater, Thea-ter, In a picture heading the list of features for the week commencing tomorrow to-morrow Mr. Daniels will be seen In a five-part comedy entitled "Crooky," written especially for him by Paul West, and produced by the Vitagraph Company under the direction of C. Jay Williams. "Crooky" is described as a comedy of errors and tells a storv of a convict who escapes from prison and, meeting a wealthy ranch owner from the West, contrives to relieve him of all his possessions, including money, check book, clothes and name "Crooky", under his alias, Is taken In by a 'broker In dire need or money to consummate a big railroad deal Tho broker, believing "Crooky" to' be a rich man, introduces him to'.an old maid sister, who immediately proceeds to make love, and the broker to casually casu-ally make a "touch," until finally high society and its attendant duties becomes be-comes too much for the pseudo ranch owner and he returns to prison of his own accord to find peace and quiet. "The Goddess," the vibrantlv human Vitagraph serial, is another feature, and in Chapter Nine, commences the really big scenes that shape tho future fut-ure destiny of Celestia, an Angel from Heaven. A battle between capital and labor in which an army of striking miners and paid hirelings of the millionaire mil-lionaire triumvirate prepare to settle their differences, induced and fostered foster-ed by tho hard-headed, close-fisted method of the mine owners emplovs over a thousand people and Introduces the best staged mob scene yet shown la pictures. In contrast to this is a fancy dress ball la which society maids and matrons try to ridicule Celestia Ce-lestia to their own undoing. The same exceptional cast fhat Interpreted the powerful scenes of the preceding chapters chap-ters is in evidence in Chapter Nine Anita Stewart, Earle Williams.
