Moro than 8000 athletes will compete in 1915 at the Panama-Pacific exposition, accord- " ing to James E. Sullivan, secretary of ;'; the National Amateur Athletic union, who was in Chicago today en route to San Francisco. He asserted that i; the athletic program at the exposition will be the most gigantic ever attempted at-tempted in America and entries from every European country and from the Orient are expected. The International Interna-tional Olympic committee has recognized recog-nized the exposition carnival and has sanctioned the holding of the modern i Pentathlon, which will be contested for in America for the first time. The winner will be awarded the Olympic :i medal. International relay races over the popular Olympic distances will be I run. !
