Show !N r mines Congressmen Led Through Miles of Workings in Colorado Colo-rado Coal Fields. Trinidad, Colo., March 2. Representatives Repre-sentatives Byrnes Evnns and Sutherland Suther-land of the house sub-committee in vestlgnting the Colorado coal miners' strike, today explored in Delague mine of the Victor-American Fuel company, the largest producing colliery col-liery in the state. The congressmen left Trinidad early in the day, making the 20 mile trip by automobile. They were met at tho mine by Superintendent Superin-tendent 13. W, Snodgrass, who acted as host, for the Victor-American company. com-pany. At the mine office the congressmen congress-men were supplied with overalls, jumpers, and miners' caps. Then they were led through one of tho main entries en-tries Into the heart of the minc The congressmen went through several sev-eral miles of workings, and saw at first hand tho toil of the miners. They interviewed a number ot the men, questioning them regarding working conditions and their rela-ti6ns rela-ti6ns with their employers. After the visit to the mine, the representatives rep-resentatives returned to Trinidad. It was generally understood, although not yet officially announced, that the testimony of "Mother" Mary Jones would be taken during the afternoon. I |
