Show JOS. STREi 15 BACK FROM IE MONTANA SHEEP RANGES Joseph Streng arrived from the north this morning in company with J. E. Morse, one of the big wool growers grow-ers of Montana. Mr Streng has been buying wool in Montana and Canada during the past month and reports the sheep industry in-dustry quite prosperous. Joe Is somewhat disturbed over a report brought from Dillon by Charles Hollingsworth. to the effect that he had weakened on tariff. He says he is still a protectionist, notwithstanding notwith-standing the good prices now being paid for wool under free trade, and he contends that were the old duty In force today, wool would be commanding com-manding eight cents a pound more than now. Mr. Morse's company owns 40,000 sheep ranging in Montana, and lately sold S000 head to the Utah Construe-Hon Construe-Hon company to, be placed on the Construction company's range in Nevada. Ne-vada. Both men report big transactions in sheep within the paBt month. . . |
