Show LAMORA FEUD ENDSWITH SALE Son of Old Hunter and Trapper Trap-per at Last Sells Property to Rockefeller. Malone, N. Y., March 30. Word was received" today that tho Rockefeller Rocke-feller Lamora feud was ended last week by the action of William La-mora La-mora In selling tho cabin and grounds left bim by his father, a hunter and trapper, who refused to sell his prop-ertv prop-ertv to make up a portion of William Rockefeller's vast Adriondacks game preserve. It was in 1892 that William Rockefeller Rocke-feller set out to acquire the game preserve. He bought 59,000 acres around the town of Brandou but could not procure Oliver Lamora's I cabin and clearing which stood in i Ihe way. Out of this arose a legal battle between tho oil dealer's agents and tho old trapper. It was expensive work for Lamora, but the old trapper's friends and neighbors sympathized with him and came to Ms aid financially. Twice agents in the courts by showing that the fish, In the Rockefeller streams were supplied by the state hatchery and that tho state law forbids the setting, aside of such waters .as part of any private estate. Staggering : Blow Received. On the third occasion when the agents got Lampra Into court, it was a civil suit for damages. It went through several courts, finally reaching reach-ing the court of appeals, which found in Rockefeller's favor. The damages awarded were only 18 cents, but $800 in costs was as-: as-: sessed against the old trapper. This was a staggering blow, and tho loss of the cabin waB threatened for a time. Lamora's friends, however, proved loyal and clubbed together to raise tho sum. For the remainder of the old man's life the Rockefeller agents recognized as useless any attempt to get him to sell. After he died, hlB son assumed assum-ed the same attitude as his father for a time, but finally he was Induced to sell. oo UNSETTLED WEATHER IS WEEK'S FORECAST Washington, D. C, March 30.
