Y. COLLEGE DRAMATIC CLUB. M Wednesday evening at the Orpheum 9 theatre the Brigham Young College mt Dramatic club presented a rare treat '9 in "AU-of-a-Sudden Peggy" though "Si only a small audience was present. The production was staged uuder ,9 the direction of W. O. Robinson and W as a special opening act. the director j appeared with Mi3s Iaura Poulsen, in. the tabloid operetta "Isle D'Am- 1 our." This act was presented in the city several yean by Orpheum stars '. 4B' and though the work of Mr. Robinson i;H and Misa Poulsen must be criticised from a professional standpoint, they Jm lost in only one feature, in a conipar- . ; J! Bon with the players in the former S?B presentation That feature was Mr. -iB Robinson's voice, which in not of a ?VI very pleasing quality, though he I - - W knows how to use it well Miss Poul- i:-m sen possesses a most likeable soprano .-'-.v.B votoe. which was fully equal to the I vfl demands of the part she played and the dancing of both was encored I j& again and again They sang and acted out four songs in a most charm- H '91 The main production of the evening waB 'n tne rst Pace excellently cast and well staged. Ab Peggy, Lydia Hansen won instant favor and kept '-'7mt 11 throughout the evening In ap- j'M pearance she was the irrepressible I "-J-Jl Irish girl to the life and she inter H preted her role with a sweet ignenu- .t-Si?M ouiness and a fine show of temper , when that was neceseary. Mr. Poulsen's ex-presBlon ex-presBlon waa especially good, though A'Jj&M, his voice would need building up, 'vl&M should he follow the profession Miss Laura Poulsen essayed the role of iftffiH the proud Lady Crackenthorpe in a capable manner and the work of Lc- KH ora Thatcher as Mrs. O'Mara. for an SSHgfl amateur, was almost above criticism. IBkH Her Irish brogue was most naturalh spoken and her expreesion equally H good. B The character role of Major PhippB was well sustained by J. M. Cunning- SgW ham. Brown entitled "An Old Maid's Dream " Two piano solo? were rendered bv Frances O Neill and the song "Good Night' was beautifully sung by Frances Fran-ces O'Neill. Mrs Brown served dainty refreshments, after which the meeting adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs LeRoy Buchmiller. THE MISSES M'NULTY ENTER TAIN. Honoring Mr. Herbert S Crowther whose marriage to Miss Mabel Krauss occurs, May 19 in the St. Josephs Catholic church, the Misses Marguerite Mar-guerite and Genevieve McNulty entertained en-tertained on Thursday evening a number of guests at their home, 2321 Lincoln avenue Simplicity was the keynote In the decorative scheme which was carried out in yellow, yellow daffodils and smllax being effectively arranged throughout the rooms. A buffet luncheon was served with the ice cream hearts In the yellow Idea. During the evening appropriate games were enjoyed. Mr. Crowther being awarded head prize In a guessing guess-ing contest, a beautifully designed Wicker basket of daffodils. Mr Jack McLaughlin was honored with the booby prize.
