For this make some imperial Icing (not too stiff) and yet stiff enough to form and retain the patterns, and if you do not want to keep your cake all white, color It a pale shade of yellow with saffron or rose-pink with cochineal, or of green or mauve, being be-ing sure that you purchase the harmless harm-less vegetable coloring for the last two colors Do not tint the icing too deep a Fhade, or the effect will h coarse. Fill your Icing pump with this icing, ic-ing, and screw on a round -fluted funnel. fun-nel. If your icing is pink or white, sugar roses will make a very pretty border to your cake; then, If it is for a birthday, screw on the writing funnel, which ha6 a very small plain round opening, and Ice upon the cake the initials or name and date Or perhaps you will prefer to decorate the top with a spray of pink sugar roses, placing a silver cachou ball in tbe heart of each rose. |
