OCR Text	Show oo I SENT TREATMENT OVER CABLE WIRE Pan Francisco. June 7. Stricken with convulsions at the lonely cable nr.Mtion on Fanning island. Dr. Herbert Her-bert Metcalfe, resident surgeon, died in throe davs lu spite of the cabled prescription from the nearest physi-clon, physi-clon, 2000 mil. u away, at Fiji. Employes Em-ployes of the cable company returning return-ing on the steamer Sierra brought news of the surgeon's death. Only a score of Europeans live on Fanning Island, and none knew how to treat the invalid. For three days hourlv bulletins of Dr Metcalfe's condition trere cabled to Fiji, and the doctor there cabled hack instructions
