Reeder, for both witnesses denied that they heard Ray Brown, a fireman irom the central station, tell Doxey to run off with the suit. Doxey had nothing to say this morning when his last witness, J. V Andrews, stated that he heard no conversation be-tween be-tween Doxey and Brown or that he saw Brown gi- a suit t0 Doxev or any one else Whn Doxev was arraigned before Fudge Reeder he confessed that lie bad taken the suit. Later he said V hud not taken the clothing, but had confessed to doing so to shield another anoth-er When further questioned, he said that Ray Brown had given him the suit, hut he did not wish to say so I before, because Brown would lose his job When asked ior jUe proof of his assertion he ioid the police to secure Roy Evans and J Y Andrews I as witnesses. The stories told by these two witnesses wit-nesses did not bear out Doxey'n as-sertions, as-sertions, however, and he must serve I his 20 days |
