Show GIRLS ESCAPE 1 FROM THE SCHOOL Last evening at the midnight hour, six girls of the State Industrial school pulled their skirts aboul them and scaled a thirteen fool fence, the upper three feet of which was made of barb I wire, and made their escape' from the institution. So far. they have made i good their getaway, no report of them having been received by the officers. of-ficers. The girls are Irene Sulllvnn, Myrtle Anderson, Frances Blemdell, Louise Burt. Helen Olsen and Beatrice Kuep sic. their ages being from 13 to 17 years They left their rooms In the girls' cottage through the fire escape, afterwards climbing a board fence ten feet high on the top of which were three barb wires. To get out of the enclosure, the girls stacked three gar bage cans and mounted them Some time last night, so It was reported re-ported to the sheriff's office this morning, morn-ing, a gray horse and light spring wagon belonging to a Japanese farmer in the north part of tho city, disappeared disap-peared from the barn and the officers believe that the girls are in possession posses-sion of the rig. Information had been sent to dlf- j ferent sections of tho country, but at a late hour this afternoon no trace of either tbe girls or the horse and wagon had been discovered. Tho cause of the sudden outbreak Is not known to the officers of the school as the girls had not recently Indicated discontent. nn |
