The mayor and commissioners com-missioners to be the successors of the present mayor and commissioners. The new bill makes the city attorney, attor-ney, city treasuier and city recorder elective officers It provides that the mayor, city auditor and city attorney , treasurer and recorder be elected from the city at large and each of the five commissioners from the wards Removal from the ward of any commissioner com-missioner vacates his office automati cally. In case of a vacancj In the office of-fice of mayor, the commissioners may elect a mayor to fill the olflce until the next municipal election. The commissioners may also fill vacancies caused by the retirement for any reason of the commissioner elected. The mayor is given the power of veto, which may be overiidden by a four-fifths vote. All officials under the new act are , to be elected for two years only, beginning be-ginning with the election of next November, No-vember, and the terms of the present officials are to expire on the first i Monday of next January The official bond of the treasurer I is fixed at the amount of the taxes ; for the current y ear, but in no case is j it to exceed $250,000.
