Rlsser. a well-known attorney of this city and Story & Steigmey -r one or the large law firms of Salt Lake, acting in behalf of the Slick Brothers Broth-ers Construction company. The complaint sets forth that the Slick Brothers Construction company com-pany entered Into a contract with the Crane Falls company to build the big dam for the power plant and the irrigation irri-gation system for the inigation project, pro-ject, including 8.000 acres, that work on the power dam and the project was started in February of the present pres-ent y, ar on the agreed contract price of $221.00(1. that on this amount but approximately $82,000 had heen paid, ami since the last payment some time aco none bad followed, so that there was due $141,429.41, the amount for which the construction company aBks judgment under foreclosure of Its a i ged mechanic's lieu. The Crane Falls Power & Inigation company was financially backed by th- well-known Canadian firm of Smith, Carry & Chase, which contracted con-tracted for and performed the work on the Canadian Pacific and tnc Grand Trunk railways This company's com-pany's headquarters Is at Toronto. Canada Mr Smith, senior member of the firm, died last summer and since then the company Is alleged nol to have taken up the payments for the construction work on the Crane Falls plant with the Slick brothers |
