Show Development Making . Good In Tintic District . different companies as well as in capital cap-ital investment. The substantial nature na-ture of this work is demonstrated by the fact that the gallows frame is of steel set in concrete and is probably one of the, largest operating in Utah. This shaft is 10 feet from the line of the Eureka Lilly property and about five or six hundred feet from where ore is now being shipped from the North Lilly. At the Silver Shield property the developments have reached a more promising condition. The ore-bearing lime, typical of the Tintic District has been opened and the general formation for-mation is practically identical with the other mines of that section of the district so that it is almost a fafe conclusion that, the Silver Shield property will join the ranks of producers pro-ducers before very long. The Eureka Lilly is now producing produc-ing from the 700 foot level and when the drift now beinar run on the 900 II. C. Hicks, Director of the Utah Securities Commission, was a recent visitor to the Tintic Mining District, On his return Mr. Hicks said: "I was aware of the wonderful development de-velopment that i taking place in the East Portion of the Tintic District but did not have full realization of the magnitude of the operations that are now going on. The Tintic Standard is operating with its usual regularity, shipments of ore being regular and new development keeping a good jump ahead of ore production. At the North Lilly the Anaconda Copper through its subsidiary in Utah, the International Smelter, is just tarting a four compartment shaft which will t;o to a depth of 1000 or 1200 feet. This shaft is known as a "custom shaft," that is to say its use will be available to all properties that can conveniently use it. In time, drifts will be run from the shaft to the different properties and by operating oper-ating in this manner there will be a large saving in operating costs to the foot level of the Tintic Standard reaches the Eureka Lilly, it is expected expect-ed to open the ore bodies at great depth. Plans are formulating for the development of the Eureka Bullion through the new North Lilly shaft. The control of the Iron King Consolidated Con-solidated has, I understand, passed into the hands of fhe Tintic Standard Stand-ard or International Smelting Company Com-pany and greater activity is evident at that property, and-as a result of this activity it is more than likely that the East Tintic Consolidated which is controlled by the Chief Consolidated, Con-solidated, and has always been considered con-sidered valuable mineral ground, will receive attention during the summer. At the Eureka Standard which is also controlled by the Tintic Standard there are reports of favorable developments. devel-opments. In fact, the whole East portion of the Tintic District has, through the solving of geological conditions, con-ditions, opened a new vista ojore production that will add millions of |
