| Show LOST CHILD pound salt lake jan 26 A child was found last night in front of the post office nearly frozen to death jack J richmond a traveling salesman cronl melrose N Y picked the little girl up and asked her name she did not reply and he discovered that she was nearly unconscious he carried her across the street into the lyric cafe where under the influence of a glowing fire she recovered sufficiently to say that her name was helen and that she had lost her papa A search was begun for her father although no definite idea could be gained from the little ones tale as to who aher father was or where he lived several men who were present volun to begin a search the police station waa called up but there had been no report of a lost child received by the authorities about twenty minutes after the little girl was found a man into the lyric bar inquiring about a lost child before ho took the girl away with him he said his name was ellsworth and that he had been out with a party in the crowd were several children among whom was his daughter she got off the car at third south and aiala streets and with her sister and several older ones were going to buy some candy when the sister and her corn arrived home they were asked what became of helen they had not missed her and at once boarded a car up town in search of the child |
