SCHOOL FOR DEAF AND BLIND haa LARGE enrollment attendance probably will be one third greater than before j from wednesdays standard the state school for the deaf and the blind opened this morning for tho school year of and 1906 with the largest attendance for opening day in its history pupils are arriving on every train and by evening there will be at least enrolled the attendance will probably be a third greater than ever before this increase is largely due to the fact that pupils from idaho who formerly received instruction at the colorado institution for the deaf and the blind arc to bo sent to the utah school the contract with the former institution having been canceled friction between the authorities of the colorado school and the state superintendent of public instruction of idaho Is said to be the cause it the trouble there will be at least thirty pupils crom idaho in attendance this year previously there were but from len to fifteen everything is in readiness for the reception of the pupils of improvements have been made in the buildings besides tho general work the teachers most of whom have been out of the state during the summer vacation have all reported for auty two new will be with the school this yar they are miss betty bowles of virginia and miss mary tyne of kentucky A meeting of the teachers and super nten dent will he held thursday at LO when an outline for the dvork of the year will be gone over supervisors and officers have gone alorth and south ao accompany the pu ils to the school idaho wyoming ind arizona will send pupils to the latah school this year thus ng the superior methods and man of the home school over those t neighboring states the enrollment will probably reach me hundred fifteen
