Show WM. E. ECCLES SODDEN DEATH William Elmer Eccles, aged 26, son of Samuel T. and Joanotte Hlatt Eccles, died at 3: -15 a. m, .today, at I ho Deo hospital, of Inflammation of tho bowels. Tho young man was employed at Burlcy. Ida., as manager of tho clerical cler-ical department of the Amalgamated Sugar company's new factory. Two weeks ago ho was taken seriously ill and was subsoqupntly brought to Ogden for treatment at the Deo hospital, hos-pital, arriving a week ago Tuesday. Tho physicians in charge of his case observed a marked improvement In his condition and were almost certain cer-tain that ho would speedily recover This morning, at an early hour, however, how-ever, tho pationt suffered a scroro relapse from which ho failed to rally In splto of tho utmost efforts of the physicians. Mr Eccles was a very popular young man and on earnest worker in the Mormon church He was born, Jan 10, ISSfi, at Eden, Webor county, and lived in Ogdon all his life. Ho was a nophow of David Ecole3. Tie was called to a mission in Scotland in January, lflOO, and labored la-bored In that field with- much success suc-cess for a period of twenty-sovcu months. Following his return to this country, he was made president of tho Young Men's Mutual Improvement Improve-ment association of the Fifth ward; nlso superintendent of the Sunday school, and labored faithfully during tho remainder of bis residence here. On Juno 15. 1910, be was married to Miss Leonora Brown of Ogden and left Immediately for Le Grande, Ore., with his bride, remaining thcro until about three months ago. Ho was an active worker at Lo Grande, serving In the Union stake of Oregon; also as superintendent of the theological department of tho stake and home missionary. Mr. Eccles is survived by his mother, moth-er, two brothers. Stewart and David H., and two sisters, Marie and Sadie, living at 102S Twenty-sixth streeL The funoral will bo held nt 2 p. m., Tuesday In tho Fifth ward meetinghouse. meeting-house. Bishop II C. Jacobs will preside. Tho caskot will bo open at the home, all day Sunday and on Tuesday until noon. Burial will take place in Ogdon City cemetery |
