Nye, the city board of commissioners this morning granted grant-ed the petition of the Commercial National Na-tional bank to erect a canopv ovor the i entrance to the Crescent " hotel, at Grant avenu e and Twenty-firth street. I The petition for the extension of water mains from Third street and Adams avenue to Fourth stroet and Jefferson avenue was referred to the superintendent of waterworks and tho same action was taken on the petition for the extension of water mains on Cross streeL The claim of William Che.ppell, In the sum of $10, was allowed and tho auditor was pAithorized to draw a warrant for the amount.
