Will Be Three Stories With a Frontage of 100 Feet and a Depth of 140 Feet Knights of Pythias and Odd Fellows Decide to Erect a Beautiful Structure for Lodge and Business Purposes. I A three-story building of attractive architectural design, one of the largest lar-gest structures in the city, Is to be I erected jointly by the Knights of Pythias Py-thias and the Odd Fellows of Ogden, on the ground now owned by the for- I raer lodge, north of the Baptist parsonage, par-sonage, on Grant avenue, between Twenty-fourth and Twenty-third streets. The decision to build was reached vesterday afternoon, arter a conference confer-ence of the building committees of tho two lodges About three years ago the Knights purchased two pieces of land on Grant avenue, with a frontage of 104 feet What is to be known as "Fraternal Hall" will be erected on this ground at an outlay of $50,000 The structure ils to be of brick, three stories, 100 feet front by 140 feet deep. The firat floor Is to be cut up into business blocks, the second floor is to be devoted de-voted to offices and rooms and the third to lodge halls There will be . solid division wall, with tho exception excep-tion of the third story, where an arch will .connect the halls of the two lodges One of the store rooms may be built for a garage. ' The building committee for tho Knights is mnde up of three memberB, J. M. Forrlstall, L. N Meid and H. L. Taylor P F. Kirkeudall Is chairman of the I O O. F. committee. The tearing down of the dwellings now on tho building plot will be commenced com-menced not later than the first of the year and by spring the foundation will be read for tho brick work. |
