Show FOUR HUNDRED IS OFFERED FOR HEN M LaCrosse, Wis., Dec 7 A White 9 Plymouth Rock hen, on display at the 3j Western Wisconsin poultry show and I valued at $200, last night, was worth twice that sum today, as the result of b swallowing a $200 ruby which dropped from a setting In a ring worn by Chas T V Keoler of Winamac, Ind., one of .1 the judges. The hen belongs to L. C. j Danville of Montfort, Wis. I While Kecler was about to examine i , the bird, the most valuable in the show, the gem dropped, and quick as ' a flash the hen gulped It down. Keoler Keol-er offered Danville $200 for the bird g and subsequently increased the bid to ij $400, but the latter refused both of- 3 ' fors and the loser left for home to- m day without his ruby. |
