Show CLERKS IN Al PARADE AT NIGHT Two bundled mombers of the Retail Re-tail Clerks" association paraded the streets and held an open air meeting Friday night lor the purpose of stimulating stim-ulating interest in their campaign for early closing hours. The parade started start-ed from the city hall at 7:15 p. m., and was led b a squad of police. Judge J. A Howell and the officers of the Hetail Clerks' association rode in the first automobile, which was decorated with flags, and the balanco of th clerks rode In a string of automobiles two blocks long. The speech-making was by A. B Foulger, who president of the clerk-' association, and D. George Shorten, who tooK an active part in organizing the association. Mr. Foulger said among other things, that tho clerks were going to be fair with the merchants, mer-chants, and that they oxpectcd the ! early closing schome to prove popu ! lar. In the eent that It does not satisfy sat-isfy the merchants, the legislature will be petitioned to pass a nine-hour law ' for clerks next year.
