SJ The hod-carriers struck because a a I, number of men wore employed as B!v hod-carrlors who hold no union cards. Itj, The non-unionists were asked to take j out cards. Some did and some did if , not. As a result tho hod-carriers ' h holding union cards struck, aftor Su- perlntendcnt Rice had rofused to die- - , j charge the non-union mon.
