Show UD MISS HELEN GOULD IN SALT LAKE Salt Lake, March 2S. Miss Helen Gould, ono of the most loved and best known women In America; spent a little more than two hours in Salt Lako City yesterday afternoon, Sho arrived by special train over the Denver Den-ver & Rio Grande at 12;40 o'clock and at 2 '50 o'clock departed over tho Western Pacific for San Francisco, Sho was given no rest from the time of her arrival until she loft, but seemed to enjoy her visit and had many nice things to sav of Salt Lake City. When the train pulled in at the Gould depot virtually all of the men employed In tho shops and yards of Salt Lako by this company were on the platform to fercet the woman whoso name Is a household word to them J. W. Mulhern, superintendent of the Utah linos of the Denver & Rio Grande, Informed Miss Gould that tho shopmen wished to meet her and sho Immediately sent word to the automobiles auto-mobiles that -wore waiting to take her about the city to wait while she shook hands and spolte an encouraging word to all of the workingmen. Tho only time that the lino was broken was when Engineer Fred King and Fireman Huntington, who had brought tho special train to Salt Lake City, asked to meet their popular pas-KpnPAr pas-KpnPAr hnfore tifrnlncr the train over to the Western Pacific. "You gave is a fino ride and we enjoyed It so much." said Miss Gould, as she shook each by the hand, and the smiles worn by the men as they turned back to the engine showed that they could no have been better paid for their well-performed well-performed duty. |
