The attorney for tho state expressed tho belief that It would icqulre at least ton days' time, while the attorney for the defendant stated that ho thought it would not take more than a week. The court finally concluded, however, that ten days should be set apart. The trial will begin December 1. - Only one other criminal case was Bet for trial in the December term, that being the case of the state against Jack Brltt who is charged with felony, alleged to have been committed with a young woman from Pocatello, Idaho. The trial of this case will begin December 21 nnd it will likely take two days to hear It. Civil cases set for trial during the month were as follows: December 18 Ezra Farr, administrator, admin-istrator, vs. the Oregon Lumbor company. com-pany. December 14 W. J. It will likely require two days in this matter and, it being holiday week, together with the fact that Friday, Fri-day, December 29, is regular motion and probate day, and Saturday. December De-cember 30, a day upon which no legal matters are to be heard, no other cases could be set. Judge Harris stated to the attorneys attor-neys that January would bo a big month for the hearing of cases, there being no cumlnal matters to take up the time of the court and there being no holidays to intercept progress in the trial of cases. |
