Avoid AnyTrouble Chicago, Oct 10 Two hundred non-union machinists from eastern cities arrived at Burnslde shops of tho Illinois Central railroad today in a special train of four coaches and wero assigned to work Strikers stood In groups outside the fence surrounding the plant and quietly watched the strike-breakers march into the shops, guarded by police po-lice and railroad detectives There was no attempt at a demonstration. Thore are now said to he more than 1,000 shopmen at work in the Burn-side Burn-side plant, or nearly one-third of the regular force. Twenty more striking car builders returned to work today. Crowds of men who gathered on the streets at Burnsjde wore asked to disperse today by members of the unions, who said that the strikers would receive the blamo If any trouble trou-ble should result. Employes Beaten by Pickets. Oakland. Cal., Oct. 10. According to the statement, numerous engine failures hae boon reported and tho demands of the strike-breakers are proving a source of troublo to tho company.
